Vote for your favourite royal polka dot look
The Princess of Wales chose a classic print for VE Day
The Princess of Wales was among the senior royals in attendance at a thanksgiving service at Westminster Abbey to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day on Thursday.
Catherine looked elegant as ever, and chose to bring back a white polka dot Alessandra Rich dress, with ruching across the waistline and cuffed sleeves.
When she first wore this look on Garter Day in 2023, parallels were made between Catherine and an outfit worn by her late mother-in-law, Diana, Princess of Wales to Royal Ascot in 1988.
But polka dots are a timeless and versatile print – in fact, Emily and I are both wearing spotty frocks today!
With that mind, I’ve gone back through some of the archives to find some more polka dot looks on the royal ladies.
Don’t forget to vote for your favourite in our poll.
1. Princess Catherine in Alessandra Rich, 2019
2. The Duchess of Edinburgh in Beulah London, 2025
3. Diana, Princess of Wales at Royal Ascot, 1988
4. Princess Margaret in Jamaica in 1955
5. Queen Elizabeth II in Bexleyheath in 2005

HRH Princess of Wales looked stunning in the polka dotted outfit today. I woke up early to see the Royal Family attend the memorial service for VE Day! ( I live in Baltimore, USA)
