Hello Royal Clubbers, it’s Millie here.
Royal watchers around the world had their first glimpse of two royal portraits of King Charles and Queen Camilla, painted specially to mark the coronation. Artist Peter Kuhfeld painted the King, and Paul S. Benney painted the Queen.
The pictures will be exhibited in the National Gallery’s central hall for the next six weeks, before being installed in Buckingham Palace’s Throne Room as part of the Royal Collection.
Both the King and Queen were very complimentary of their portraits, with the former praising his portrait’s “wonderful composition”, while Camilla simply said: “I just love it”.
We enlisted the help of some experienced art experts to give us their opinion on the portraits. The response wasn’t universally enthusiastic, with one portrait clearly preferred over the other.
Read on to see if you can guess which one received the most praise and to vote on your favourite portrait…
