Do you think William will attend the BAFTAs while Kate recovers?
He's gradually getting back to work...
Hi Royal Clubbers,
We're a few days away from the BAFTA Film Awards, which are taking place this Sunday in London.
As President of BAFTA, Prince William usually attends as a guest of honour, accompanied by his wife Princess Kate.
We know the Princess will definitely not be making an appearance this year as she recovers from abdominal surgery (did you catch Isabelle's post about what Kate's road to recovery looks like?)
There is, however, the chance that William will walk the red carpet solo this weekend.
In the past few years, he has showed up to the glitzy affair and rubbed shoulders with the likes of Olivia Colman, Bradley Cooper, Rachel Weisz, and Rami Malek.
He and Kate only pulled out of the awards last-minute in 2021 because, understandably, Prince Philip had passed away the day before. And in 2022, both William and Kate were a no-show due to "diary constraints". William gave a virtual address in that instance.
William did make a return to the royal circuit last week; Emily wrote about her front-row seat at his engagement in her newsletter.
But the future King is, understandably, picking and choosing which public appearances he can realistically make, as he continues to care for his wife, hold the fort at home with their three young kids, and also step in for his father Charles for some of his engagements.
William has a lot on his plate, and maybe travelling from Windsor to London for a red-carpet appearance late on a Sunday afternoon, the night before his children go back to school after their February half-term break, just isn't feasible.
So I'm in two minds about whether he will be in attendance… I think he probably will be, I hope he will.
Kensington Palace should give us the heads-up soon, but in the meantime, do you think William be pressing his tux for Sunday? Let me know in the comments.

I think Prince William should take it and look after himself, Princess Catherine and their adorable three children
I think Prince William, would better be staying at home.
