Before we dive into today’s Royal Round-Up, I wanted to share some quick royal trivia with you.
On this day in royal history, 13 October 1399, King Henry IV was crowned in Westminster Abbey. He had two processions: one from Westminster Abbey to the Tower of London on the eve of his coronation, and one back to the Abbey the next day.
Henry was best known for deposing and imprisoning his brother, Richard II, and suffering from deteriorating health throughout his later life. It was prophesied that Henry would die in Jerusalem, but he actually died in the Jerusalem Chamber at the abbot’s house in Westminster Abbey. Close but no cigar!
Remember, you can comment or reply back to this email to let us know your thoughts on the week – it would be great to hear from you.
From sunny Malta to hard hats in Sheffield, it’s been another busy week for working royals. It was a historic week for Luxembourg and there was a trip down memory lane for Duchess Sophie and Prince Edward, while Prince William met with some celebrated British actors.
Take a look at the highlights from the week below and scroll to the end for next week’s royal diary…
