For my latest HELLO! cover story, royal author Robert Jobson told me about how the Prince and Princess of Wales’ latest joint appearance at the Royal Variety Performance sent a clear message: “unity, stability and a forward-looking monarchy”. It was a particularly poignant outing given that it was the first time Catherine had watched the show since her illness – and she and William looked to have thoroughly enjoyed themself. We also learnt some interesting titbits about their family life, while Catherine shared a sweet moment with pop star Jessie J as they bonded over their shared experience of cancer.
