WATCH: William's reunion with Diana's sister

The Prince was supported by Lady Sarah McCorquodale at a military parade
Prince William attended the Sovereign's Parade in his father's place

Hello Royal Clubbers,

Prince William enjoyed a friendly reunion with his maternal aunt earlier today.

As he attended the Sovereign's Parade at the Royal Air Force College in Cranwell, the future King was supported by one of Princess Diana's sisters, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, who decided to turn up at the event after hearing that her nephew was down the road. Lady Sarah lives 15 miles from the Air Academy, in Grantham.

The pair would have last seen each other in August at the funeral of Lord Fellowes, who was married to Princess Diana's other sister, Lady Jane Fellowes.

William mingles with some of the 52 graduating RAF officers

The video below shows some highlights from William's military engagement, including his speech to the 52 graduating RAF officers, as well as the deafening flypast from an RAF Typhoon jet flying overhead during the parade.

Inside the college, William, looking smart in his Wing Commander uniform, was able to mingle with the graduates. One snippet shows Lady Sarah standing behind her nephew in the background - can you spot her (she's wearing a cream polo neck and green blazer)?

Today's outing was certainly a trip down memory lane for the Prince, who gained his 'wings' at Cranwell after flight training in 2008.

Speaking about his time at the RAF training base, he said: "I am delighted to see so many family and friends here – I know their love and support will have been instrumental in getting you to this point. Whilst I didn't graduate on this exact Parade Ground, I did graduate from flying training here, so I know something about the celebrations that will come later."
