A visit to a landmark Hindu temple and more in The Royal Dispatch
Hello Royal Clubbers, it’s Ainhoa here.
This week, we saw the King and Queen celebrate a belated “Happy Diwali” at a stunning Hindu temple in west London, while King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark travelled to Latvia for a two-day visit.
Before we dive into the best royal pictures of the week, it’s time to head back in time…
On this day…
On this day in history, 1 November 1894, Nicholas II became the Tsar of Russia upon the death of his father Alexander III. He would be the last reigning emperor of Russia.
Nicholas was not well-suited to ruling, preferring his private life and lacking the decisiveness and geopolitical understanding required to rule such a vast area. He also had an extreme view of those who opposed him, considering them malicious conspirators.
His reign would last 23 years, ending in 1917 when riots broke out against him in St. Petersburg. Nicholas’s government resigned and he was forced to resign on 15 March. Just over a year later, he and his family would be dead.

King Charles and Queen Camilla
The King and Queen were garlanded with flowers when they celebrated the 30th anniversary of BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, a Hindu temple in West London, popularly known as the Neasden temple. They wished worshippers a belated “Happy Diwali” – the Hindu festival of lights celebrated earlier this month – as they toured the ornate temple.
Queen Camilla
Camilla was presented with a very special gift as she visited the Bromham Community Hub - a painting depicting her dog Moley. The newly opened hub aims to reduce isolation and support mental health by providing a flexible community space for village residents.
King Charles
Earlier in the week at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire, Charles appeared deeply moved as he laid flowers at the UK’s first national memorial commemorating LGBT armed forces. The King also met veterans who spoke of the trauma inflicted by the military’s former “gay ban”.
King Felipe and Queen Letizia
There was high emotion as the Spanish royals spoke to and comforted relatives of the victims of Valencia’s deadliest floods, which took place in October 2024. Felipe and Letizia attended a moving tribute at the Prince Felipe Science Museum on the one-year anniversary of the tragedy.
King Frederik and Queen Mary
The Danish royals carried out a two-day state visit to Latvia, where a highlight was the white-tie state banquet at Riga Castle. Mary wowed in a red satin gown by Danish designer, Soeren Le Schmidt, which featured a sweetheart neckline and a pleated A-line style skirt. She teamed the dress with the Antique Edwardian tiara, which contains diamonds and rubies, and displayed her royal honours.
Queen Maxima
The Dutch queen left nothing to chance as she applied face paint and full military uniform during a working visit to the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee’s training and education centre.
King Philippe and Queen Mathilde
King Charles and Queen Camilla aren’t the only royals to have visited the Vatican recently. King Philippe and Queen Mathilde were also received by Pope Leo XIV at the start of the week.
Princess Charlene
Accompanied by her brother Gareth Wittstock, Charlene attended a presentation of Monaco’s new police canine unit, an initiative she came up with herself. The princess showcased a new hairstyle - a shorter and slightly darker ‘do, perfect for autumn.
