The Kate-shaped hole can't be filled
The Princess was notably absent from King Charles's Easter gathering...
Hi Royal Clubbers,
I hope you're enjoying the Easter break for those who celebrate it.
As expected, the Prince and Princess of Wales were notably absent from the royal family's big outing yesterday, when King Charles and Queen Camilla led members of The Firm in attending the traditional Sunday church service at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.
We had an inkling that William and Kate, and their three young children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, would be a no-show, given Kate's recent cancer diagnosis and her ongoing preventative chemotherapy treatment. The Waleses have been lying low since Kate bravely shared her video message last month and their whereabouts are not known for certain, but I have a feeling they've decamped to their country home, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk.
It's a place where the family are afforded real privacy, so don't expect any paparazzi shots or snatched sightings in the next few weeks while George, Charlotte, and Louis are on their long Easter holidays. They aren't due back at Lambrook School until mid-April, so the family really do have a lot of quality time on their hands.
And it's something that Kate will need and relish. In her video message she very pointedly said she is "focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits" – read: her children, her husband William, and perhaps her extended family like the Middletons.
