Which overseas trip should Catherine make in 2026?
The Princess of Wales is set to dust off her passport this year

Hello Royal Clubbers,
Ahead of the Princess of Wales’ 44th birthday on Friday, we wanted to gauge your opinion on which overseas trip you would like to see Catherine undertake this year, if she does do one.
It’s said that the Princess is making a bigger and bolder return to work in 2026, after she eased herself back in last year following her remission from cancer. She may not be increasing the number of her engagements stratospherically (it’s always been quality over quantity with Catherine), but she is hoped to resume international travel.
The last time she went on a major royal tour was in March 2022, accompanying Prince William to Belize, Jamaica and The Bahamas as part of the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. After that, Catherine did make other notable overseas visits, including to the United States in December 2022 for William’s Earthshot Award, and to France in September 2023 for the Rugby World Cup in her role as Patron of the Rugby Football Union.
However, international travel was paused in 2024 due to Catherine’s cancer diagnosis and treatment, and she has not undertaken any major overseas royal tours since.
Where might Catherine visit in 2026?
Australia and New Zealand
There’s been an open invite to visit Australia from Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. William and Catherine have not been since 2014, when they brought baby Prince George with them.
And following the King’s successful tour to Australia in October 2024 (while he was undergoing his own treatment for cancer), it could be another opportunity for a major Commonwealth tour. The Prince and Princess may choose to tack on New Zealand while they’re Down Under.
The United States
The King and Queen are rumoured to be heading to the US in April, at the invitation of US President Donald Trump, as the country prepares to celebrate 250 years of independence.
William and Catherine could follow later in the year to mark the same anniversary, but also to attend the FIFA World Cup, which runs from 11 June to 19 July. William would attend in his capacity as patron of the Football Association, but seeing as the Prince and his three children are avid football fans, it would be a fun opportunity for the whole family to travel once school has broken up for the summer holidays.
India
The sixth Earthshot Prize award will take place at the end of the year, and while this year’s location has not yet been announced, reports suggest India could play host. Catherine joined her husband at the inaugural event in London in 2021, followed by Boston, USA in 2022. But she was noticeably absent at the Singapore awards in 2023 (she stayed behind to support Prince George during his school exams), and the 2024 and 2025 awards in South Africa and Brazil respectively, due to her health struggles and subsequent recovery.
Will this be the year Catherine makes a return to the Earthshot Prize green carpet?
While any international travel plans are pending, it’s hoped that the Princess will carry out some kind of overseas visit or tour, if she is well enough. Where would you like to see her go?

Hope she comes to the us!
