Tower of London
Buckingham Palace
Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament
Alnwick Castle
Hampton Court Palace
Windsor Castle
Holyrood Palace
Seventy-seven per cent of you had – I enjoyed reading the comments and hearing about the landmarks you’d visited!
Poll of the day
As you’ll see in the photos, the royals we’re so fond of today have grown up a lot since their teenage years.
I think many of them are still very recognisable today – and I must say, Princess Anne was absolutely stunning – a true ’60s style queen!
Also, it’s quite funny seeing the photos of Prince Harry’s dorm at Eton – it’s clear he wasn’t the tidiest student…
I thought I’d share a photo from my own teenage years as well – this was from a trip to California with my family when I was 17. I visited the Dolby Theatre (where the Academy Awards are held in Los Angeles), and here I am trying to manifest my future career – although strangely I ended up on the other side of the camera.
While I don’t miss every part of my teenage years, I do miss the family holidays – and, of course, not having to navigate adult tasks (which I still often call my parents for help with).
So for poll of the day:
Let me know in the comments if you have any special memories from being a teenager…
Video of the day
I could have chosen Prince William’s moving video but that is to be the focus of Emily’s The Royal Editor later (7pm UK time), so I have opted for more footage with mental ill health at its heart. Today marks an important event: World Mental Health Day, and Prince Harry delivered a poignant speech at the Project Healthy Minds Gala panel discussion on Thursday, titled: Surviving or Thriving: How Are Young People Doing in the Digital Age?
I really admire his work on contemporary topics like this, and it’s great to see him speaking directly to young people about an issue that’s all too prevalent today. I, for one, am terrible when it comes to scrolling on my phone – growing up in the digital age, it’s definitely a learning curve to stay mindful of how much time I’m spending online!
