King Charles and Queen Camilla begin Vatican visit and more...
Hi Royal Clubbers, it’s Iona here.
First up, here’s the best of the royal coverage over on HELLO! today.

And the winner is…
Yesterday, I asked if you were a fan of Kylie Minogue, and a sizeable 63 per cent of you said no. That’s totally fair – pop music isn’t for everyone! Personally, I love hearing some of her classic hits.
One Royal Clubber, Karen, commented that going to her concert was a “fabulous show,” and I’ve only ever heard positive things from others who’ve seen her live too!”
But if not Kylie, which other artists do you enjoy listening to? Let me know in the comments…
Poll of the day
As you may have read, Princess Catherine is not only competitive when it comes to sports but also in the kitchen.
When British national treasure and queen of baking Mary Berry says that both Prince William and Princess Catherine are competitive, it’s clearly not to be taken lightly. They sound like perfect candidates for a royal version of The Great British Bake Off (which, for any US readers, is the UK’s beloved and cosy baking show).
It got me thinking about my own competitive streak. I grew up doing ballet from the age of two until my late teens, and that definitely enhanced my competitiveness. I remember taking countless dance exams, always determined to get every step right.
That mindset still stays with me today – although thankfully I no longer have to perfect a ballet bun for a Monday evening class (my teacher used to redo it if it wasn’t up to standard!)
I’d love to know – do any of you have a competitive streak? Does it come from sport, academia, cooking or just everyday perfectionism?
Video of the day
It was a grand spectacle today as King Charles and Queen Camilla arrived at the Vatican to meet Pope Leo. I thought Queen Camilla looked very elegant in her black veil, and the whole occasion appeared rather splendid to me!
Another lovely detail from the visit was the exchange of small personal gifts between them – such a thoughtful and charming gesture.
Thursday’s puzzles

A touch familiar about an immensely Long History since a British Monarch has visited a Pope,
actually since 1534, I think it quite Fine for His Majesty The King, King Charles III to travel to Rome by airplane to meet privately with The New Pontiff, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, and at His Holiness's Private Quarters or in The Glorious Sistine Chapel of Fabled Leonardo di Vinci extraordinary Art Testimonies to God and Holiness of All Worshippers all over the World ... Not at all knowledgeable beyond opening words, I would simply say I wish HM The King, every good wish for Health Returned as New and Peace reigning in HM's Heart and Soul after such a rare and beautiful Visit to The Vatican and All Rome ... Prayers for The Health of HM The Kind King Charles III ongoing and for Calm now after turbulent times as of late ... God Save The King! (em)
Thank You for the Invitation to share Competitive sides or Must Be Competitive and Strive
for Perfection! I am the daughter of 'Music Royalty' aka, Classical Music and grew up as a
child asking for my first Violin gifted to me by Poppa and taught how to hold the violin & tiny
then but loved it and the Sound! It (my violin) and I progressed to quite advanced by age 7,
giving a little recital on my violin; playing major pieces known to all concert artists having the
finest tuition from my Juilliard Top of Class Poppa and Mother, rare Pianist of GOAT 20th C.
Composer of odd although highly regarded Atonal Compositions for Symphony Orchestras
and various music ensembles. I was always in an environment of 'Must Practise & Practise
Well' so in my young mind it was planted there yet not under too much stress for I adored
all music loving it and also playing some at the Piano. But Violin was my Soul Mate and did
bring me much enjoyment/hard labour yet grand musical offerings of success to audiences
who seemed to like my musical interpretations of Johann Sebastian Bach; Mozart and of
course, Ludwig van Beethoven plus loving exotic pieces of Aram Khachaturian which did
bring me great fortune auditioning for GOAT Violinist, Jascha Heifetz, who accepted yours
truly 'without reservation' which my musician parents danced to when hearing their young
daughter was only 1 of 7 artist pupils accepted to Study with HEIFETZ, GOAT Violinist!!
To answer the question of perfect or discipline: It Is Invaluable for Life and for one's own
character of honesty and fidelity to Family and Friends. Also to one's Mentor's who if they
trust your talent will likely share special help! I'm grateful for my parental discipline + HBD!
