On Friday I asked if you liked the look of the state banquet menu…
Fifty-five per cent of you did – it seems you Royal Clubbers have a very fancy food palette…
I cooked dinner for my friend this weekend, and the pasta I made was really put to shame by this menu – and probably my hosting skills were slightly less formal.
However, I’m slightly obsessed with the bombe glacée Cardinal they had for pudding – a bombe made with vanilla ice cream. Where can I find this in London? If anyone knows, do let me know…
Poll of the day
As you will have read, Sarah Ferguson has been dropped as patron of a children’s hospice.
Julia’s House, a children’s hospice, released a statement today explaining the reasons behind their decision.
It was only last week, at the Duchess of Kent’s funeral, that Sarah was publicly seen – attending the service with her ex-husband, the Duke of Kent.
What are your thoughts on this very sensitive situation?
Today’s poll:
Video of the day
Despite last week’s busyness, King Charles came flying out of the royal traps earlier to kick-start a new week of royal engagements.
First the monarch visited BAE Systems’ shipyard in Barrow, Cumbria where he chatted with those studying at the careers hub.
Second he attended the Town Hall in Barrow-in-Furness for the presentation of the Letters Patent, which formally bestows Royal Charter status on the Port of Barrow.
I really admire his energy at all the engagements – he genuinely looks so pleased to be there and to interact with everyone, of all ages. He looked in great spirits and very pleased to be there, warmly waving and interacting with the onlookers.
