And the winner is…
Yesterday, I included two polls in the newsletter.
The first asked if you liked wearing floral dresses, such as Duchess Sophie’s outfit, and 63 per cent of you said yes!
Well, it is safe to say that as we enter the depths of winter in London, I will not be wearing any floral dresses.
The second poll asked if William and Catherine should have chosen a less grand house as their base, and 84 per cent of you said no!
A few Royal Clubbers shared their opinion, with Jasmine writing that they deserved a bigger home: “This is a much better home for them. This will be their forever home, even when William becomes King, so this is a terrific home for them.”
Antoinette had a similar opinion: “They are the next rulers of England (sic), and they should be settled in a forever home, separate from the castles.”
And Michael said: “The Royals are Royals for a reason so that we have something to look up to.”
Poll of the day
As you will have read, Princess Catherine was absent from the diplomatic reception at Windsor Castle the other day, depriving of us of a chance to see her crowned by a tiara once more.
My favourite tiara moment of Catherine’s came when she looked pretty in pink in a Jenny Packham gown at the Diplomatic Reception in 2023. Her tiara of choice was the Lover’s Knot, and I think it perfectly complements the sparkliness of her dress. Of the various tiaras she has worn over the years, the Lover’s Knot is unquestionably my favourite. Is it yours too? If not, let me know which is in the comments!
Video of the day
Alex, HELLO!’s US royal news correspondent, had an exciting trip earlier this week to a preview of ‘Lady Glenconner: My Life in Objects’. For those of you unfamiliar with Anne Veronica Tennant, Baroness Glenconner, she was a maid of honour at Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953 and a lady-in-waiting to Princess Margaret.
In an auction at Bonhams, starting today, Lady Glenconner is selling a selection of personal items, including gifts she received from members of the British royal family. Take a look at some of the treasures being auctioned off in Alex’s video below:
