Yesterday I asked if any of you were chocoholics.
I have to say I’m a little disheartened that thirty-one per cent of you said no. I assumed everyone had a sweet tooth… even the Queen did!
Poll of the day
As you will have read, royal-home renovations over the years have cost UK taxpayers millions.
There’s no denying that the properties look spectacular but is it right that the cost is footed by the general public?
Given the vast personal fortunes of senior royals (King Charles’s personal wealth is estimated to be £640 million in The Sunday Times Rich List 2025), it doesn’t seem unreasonable to me that his home renovations should be self funded. Do you agree? If not, do please let me know why in the comments.
Video of the day
On the housing theme still, call me nosey but I love seeing inside other people’s homes – especially royal ones.
In this rare video, we catch a glimpse inside St James’s Palace, known as the home of Princess Beatrice. To be clear, she doesn’t occupy the entire building, but instead has a private section that is not open to the public.
I especially love the Queen Anne Room – it looks like a scene from Bridgerton, where a fancy party might be held. Although I’m sure that, day to day, it’s mostly filled with tourists and staff rushing about.
Which room is your favourite? Or if this palace isn’t your dream interior, let me know which other royal buildings you prefer – I grew up in Windsor so I’m biased towards one particular castle…
Thursday’s puzzles
That’s all for today Royal Clubbers. See you tomorrow!
