Hi everyone, it’s Emily here with my weekly newsletter. I’m just back from a fascinating few days covering the King and Queen’s State Visit to Italy, as you may have seen from my video diaries. In case you missed them, here there are again:
Royal fever hit the streets of Rome and Ravenna as the couple, who celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on April 9, toured the Colosseum and Roman Forum, attended a glittering, black-tie State Banquet at the Quirinale and met many of the thousands of wellwishers who turned out to greet them.
There were even rare words from Queen Camilla herself on the secret to a happy marriage as she and King Charles celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary.
But it wasn’t just their trip that made royal headlines this week.
