Hello, Royal Clubbers, I hope your week is off to a great start. It was so interesting to hear your opinions last week about Queen Camilla’s personable nature. I had an absolutely lovely response from Royal Clubber Audrey relating her own interaction with the Queen, and wanted to share it with you here.
I would love to share an anecdote about Queen Camilla. Last summer, my family had the opportunity to attend Trooping the Colour while on vacation in London (we live in NYC and one of my husband’s co-workers had access to tickets!).
When the carriage with the King and Queen processed by our section in the stands, Camilla made eye contact with my 10-year-old daughter and waved right at her, which was so exciting!
Later I wrote a note to her office to tell her how much it meant to us and she wrote back personally on her own stationery. I totally believe that she is warm and gracious in person and would be delighted to meet her someday!
It was so heartwarming to hear Audrey’s story and it got me thinking.
We are lucky to have thousands of ardent royal followers as part of our special community here on The HELLO! Royal Club, and I bet plenty of you have had your own royal encounter.
If so, I’d absolutely love to hear all about it – and you never know, you may well find yourself featuring in a future post, just like Audrey!
Tell me about it by leaving a comment below or pressing ‘reply’ to this email. I can’t wait to hear from you!

I am 86 years old and I still remember the day I was in the children's choir to sing for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip the they visited Sri Lanka (then Ceylon) in 1954 during their Commonwealth tour just after the Coronation. I was one of 100 children chosen to be in the choir. Then, the following day, I was lucky enough to be in the Girl Guides guard of honor for the royal couple when they opened Parliament in Colombo at Independence Square.
I am now a US citizen and visited the UK during the Queen's Silver Jubilee and King Charles' Coronation.
I was outside the entrance Windsor Castle where Queen Victoria Memorial is. The Queen’s Lady In Waiting noticed me managed to get HM to walk over to me. Just spoke few words and I wished HM a very happy 90th birthday. That was the only time I ever met HM and I am glad I happened to be there on that glorious day in Windsor she was such a nice person.
