William and Kate's new royal traditions
Plus a look ahead to the King's festive gathering at Sandringham
Hello Royal Clubbers!
It feels like the royal Christmas diary is well underway, with festive engagements aplenty and no doubt some gift shopping and wrapping going on inside the royal residences.
This week, the King is recording his seasonal message ready for broadcast on December 25 and in the coming days, he’ll host the wider royal family for a traditional lunch before he departs for Sandringham next week.
Last year’s pre-Christmas gathering was at Windsor Castle, likely because of the ongoing reservicing works at Buckingham Palace. But up to 70 royals, young and old, are usually seen driving through the Palace gates to attend the lunch each December.
