Welcome to your new Sunday newsletter
We're merging the royal week in pictures and the royal diary into a bumper weekly post
Happy Sunday, Royal Clubbers!
It's your new club writer Millie here with the first edition of my Sunday newsletter in which Friday’s royal week in pictures and Sunday’s royal diary will be merged into the one, comprehensive weekly post.
I’m certainly most excited to be added to the writing roster having been a fan of the royals since I grew up in Windsor, with the castle on my front door. My sisters and I (and sometimes my brother!) used to dress up as Disney princesses and play on the Long Walk.
My favourite royal memory is when Princess Catherine and Prince William married on 29 April at Westminster Abbey. It was also my 11th birthday, and I remember we wore Union Jack hats and waved flags while we watched the wedding on TV, then went to eat birthday cake.
I would also love for this newsletter to become a place where we can exchange ideas and thoughts in the comments. We have said since launching that this club is as much yours as ours, and I intend to live up this communitarian ethos! To prove I mean it, we are yet to think of a name for the newsletter so please let me know your suggestions in the comments below.
On now with the post, and October has started with a bang for royals at home and abroad, with Prince Harry stepping into a more familiar role as he carries out charity work in Africa, while Princess Beatrice surprised everyone when she announced her family was growing by one.
There was also an unexpected appearance from Princess Catherine, who is gradually returning to work after she announced last month that she had completed chemotherapy.
Take a look at the highlights from the week below and scroll to the end for next week’s royal diary…
