WATCH: Queen Camilla makes her royal return after illness
The Queen has said she is 'on the mend'
Queen Camilla made her return to royal duties today after cancelling key engagements last week, having contracted a chest infection two weeks after her tour to Australia and Samoa alongside her husband King Charles.
The Queen, 77, met this year's Booker Prize finalists in the Garden Room at Clarence House. She talked and laughed with the writers present, telling them she’d been “determined” to attend the event, and had been “impressed” with their writing.
When asked how she was feeling, Queen Camilla replied: "I'm getting much better. Bit of coughing going on but I really wanted to be here."
In order to preserve her health and protect those around her, the Queen will be limiting her duties this week and will not attend the Gladiator II premiere or an event to mark the King’s 76th birthday.
