WATCH: Prince William shows remarkable interest - in seaweed
Yet more evidence of the Prince's personability on a trip to Cardiff
Prince William carried out one of his more niche engagements today as he went on a fact-finding mission to Cardiff Metropolitan University, Wales to learn more about… seaweed!
The eco-conscious royal met entrepreneurs and organisations who are using the material to make more environmentally-friendly products.
One businessman he got chatting to was Pierre Paslier, co-founder of Notpla, which supplies seaweed packaging to sporting and music venues around the country, such as Wimbledon and London's O2 Arena.
You may recognise Notpla as a former winner of William's Earthshot environmental prize, so it's no surprise he took such an interest in their stand.
As he inspected a seaweed-produced golf tee, William was asked if he played golf, to which he replied, "No, the last time I played golf," and pointed to his head. The Prince was, of course, referencing his childhood accident at Ludgrove school aged eight, when he was playing with friends and accidentally hit on the forehead with a golf club, and left with a Harry Potter-esque scar!
