The future King made a nostalgic return to Anglesey
Hi Royal Clubbers,
Prince William carried out a very special engagement today, visiting his former air base RAF Valley in Anglesey, North Wales as Royal Honorary Air Commodore, a role he took over from his father King Charles last August.
You may remember that Anglesey holds a special place in William's heart. The island is where he lived as a newlywed with Princess Catherine, and where William was stationed as an RAF search and rescue pilot from 2010 to 2013.
During his visit to the base, the royal met personnel from across the station including Qualified Flying Instructors, members of the RAF Mountain Rescue Service, and those working at the Air Traffic Control tower - as well as their families.
He seemed to particularly enjoy his time at the Fire and Rescue Section, where he turned action hero for the day, taking part in a simulated fire response exercise. Sitting in the passenger seat of a fire truck, William operated the water pump to drown out the flames on a plane.
