Danielle witnesses the royals paying their respects at the Cenotaph
Hello Royal Clubbers, it’s Danielle here.
I’m writing this from Whitehall, central London where I’ve spent the day shadowing the King and his family at the Remembrance Sunday commemorations. As always, it’s been a poignant engagement and it’s so moving to see the royals laying their wreaths and paying their respects at the Cenotaph war memorial.
Charles took centre stage as he led the two-minute silence, while the Queen and the Princess of Wales were among the royals who watched the service from the balcony of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. Prince William, fresh from his trip to Brazil, also laid a wreath.
Some 10,000 armed forces veterans took part in the annual Royal British Legion’s March Past in central London, while music played. Among the war heroes were D-Day veterans.
You can watch my video from the event - including the heartwarming moment I interviewed two veterans - and see photos from the day below. And as ever, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
