Hello Royal Clubbers, it’s Millie here with the latest edition of The Royal Dispatch.
Before we get started with this week's best pictures and the upcoming diary, it's time take a look at this day in royal history.
On 2 February 1901, Queen Victoria’s funeral was held. She died on 22 January 1901 at 6:30pm at Osborne House on the Isle of Wight, ending a 63-year reign.
Her children and grandchildren were with her, including the future King Edward VII and Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany.
Dressed in a white gown and her wedding veil, Victoria requested she be buried with a plaster cast of Albert’s hand and his dressing gown.
The body of the 81-year-old monarch was then taken aboard HMY Alberta, alongside several yachts transporting King Edward VII to Gosport in Hampshire, then onto Victoria station in London.
Carried on a gun carriage and accompanied by a military procession, the coffin journeyed from Victoria to Paddington, the road lined by spectators, then placed in St. George's Chapel in Windsor.
Her final resting place was Frogmore Mausoleum, which she had built for Prince Albert upon his death. Above the door was inscribed: "Vale desideratissime. Farewell most beloved. Here at length, I shall rest with thee, with thee in Christ I shall rise again."
