Edoardo and Beatrice have known each other since they were teenagers

Hi Royal Clubbers,

It's Ainhoa here with my weekly Monday newsletter.

When we first launched the Club late last year, we only had a few thousand subscribers. To date, we're proud to have some 56,000 members, and many of you may not have read the interview I did with Princess Beatrice's stepfather-in-law last November.

You may be wondering why I'm resharing my feature, but later this week it's Beatrice's 36th birthday, so in honour of her big day, I wanted you to hear from one of her family members who knows her best.

Her stepfather-in-law is the sculptor David Williams-Ellis, who couldn't speak more highly of the Princess and her 40-year-old husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. David is married to Edoardo's mother Nikki, and so has got to know his property developer stepson very well over the past decade.

It wasn't until 2018 that their love story blossomed

Their love story

Edo, as he is known among family and friends, first crossed paths with Beatrice as teenage family friends.

"When Beatrice first met Edo, she was a teenager," David told me. "Edo was maybe 18, 19 and probably looking out into the world, which looked rather exciting and glamorous. But I think they formed a bond from quite early on in their lives, which they revisited when they re-met and fell in love.

"Edo is very much in love. He's a kind person and kindness goes a long way in a relationship."
