Royal diary: What's coming up this week
Including a big birthday celebration for the Duke of Edinburgh
Spring is almost here in the UK (we hope!) and that means there's plenty of annual events to look forward to in the royal calendar.
After a winter ski break, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh will be back to royal duties this week, with joint engagements in Leeds.
Prince Edward will also be celebrating a milestone birthday. Read on to find out more…
Monday
The Princess Royal will be hosting two meetings at her Gloucestershire estate, Gatcombe Park – one with Give Them a Sporting Chance and the other with the Chaffinch Trust.
Princess Anne is guardian of Give Them a Sporting Chance, which gives carers and those with disabilities, of all ages, the opportunity to make their sporting or recreational dreams come true. The Chaffinch Trust supports those working for people who live in disadvantaged areas on low incomes and lacking opportunity.
Meanwhile, Sarah, Duchess of York is heading Down Under to attend Global Citizen Now in Melbourne.
Tuesday
Princess Anne will open First Garden Cities Homes' Sheltered Housing Scheme in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire and His Majesty's Prison Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire.
The Duke of Edinburgh will be in Stafford, making stops at The Right Stuff Amateur Boxing Club and Rising Brook Community Church.
Wednesday
Prince Edward will be carrying out engagements in Leatherhead, Surrey, visiting Freewheelers Theatre at The Lighthouse and Surrey Hills Community Radio.
Thursday
Princess Anne will be at the 32nd National Equine Forum and in her role as Grand Master of The Royal Victorian Order, she will also attend the Annual Evensong and Reception at the Savoy Chapel in London.
Friday
Edward and Sophie will travel to Leeds, where they will attend the Community Sports Awards, watch an Ability rehearsal at Northern Ballet Headquarters and be treated to a performance of Romeo and Juliet at Leeds Grand Theatre.
And Princess Anne will visit King's College London's Portable MRI Project at Denmark Hill Campus. She will also mark International Women's Day at a luncheon at one of the Princess of Wales's old favourite Chelsea haunts, Bluebird, in her role as patron of Save the Children UK.
Sunday
The Duke of Edinburgh will celebrate his 60th birthday – so here's hoping that Buckingham Palace will mark the occasion with a new photograph!
There's no rest for Princess Anne at the weekend, as she'll be at the Global Fraud Summit Opening Reception in London.
And in the UK, we'll be celebrating Mother's Day and we hope the royal mums will have a special day with their loved ones.
