Royal diary: What's coming up this week
More festive cheer and a trip down memory lane for Prince William
The big day is getting closer and there's still plenty to look forward to in the royal diary ahead of Christmas. Have you been on Santa's good list this year like King Charles?
Monday
The Duchess of Edinburgh is set for a festive-themed evening at the Meningitis Now Christmas Carol Concert at St Paul's Church in London's Covent Garden.
Sophie has been patron of Meningitis Now for the last 20 years.
Thursday
The Prince of Wales, in his role as Commodore-in-Chief Submarines, will attend the Lord High Admiral’s Divisions on behalf of King Charles at the Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth.
The royal family has strong links to the naval college – King George V, King George VI and King Charles were all cadets at Dartmouth.
It’s also the place where the late Queen Elizabeth II met her future husband, Prince Philip.
Saturday
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh will step out for the Rotary Club of Windsor St George Charity Christmas Carol and Readings Service at College Chapel, Eton College.
The festive celebration is in aid of The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, which Sophie is patron of, having succeeded Princess Alexandra in 2021.
Sunday
And if you loved my first Friday Fashion diary on the Princess of Wales's look for the Royal Variety Performance, Royal Clubbers in the UK can watch the performance on ITV1, STV and ITVX at 8pm GMT.
Paloma Faith, Rick Astley and Cher were just a selection of the star acts. We can't wait to see whom William and Kate were dancing along to!
This week on the Royal Club
As ever there’s a lot to look forward to for club members. On Monday, we have a special interview with So Many Thoughts founder Elizabeth Holmes on festive fashion and the royals.
And have you ever wondered what it is like to be awarded an MBE by Princess Anne (check out her fashion secrets here, by the way)? Well, on Tuesday, we will be speaking to someone who actually has!
On Wednesday, Emily Nash will be sending her class-leading weekly newsletter. No one does ‘behind the scenes’ like our Emily, and last week she revealed Queen Camilla’s festive treat.
Finally, it would be remiss not to mention the release of part two of The Crown’s final season on Thursday. We’ll be debating which actress was the best Queen Elizabeth II, so get thinking. And if it were a while ago that you watched part one, here Emily Nash gives her “mixed” verdict.
Enjoy your weeks!
