Royal diary: What's coming up this week
Princess Kate's annual carol concert is a melodious highlight
In the words of Mariah Carey, it's time! The festive season is here and the royals are getting into the Christmas spirit this week...
Tuesday
The Princess Royal will be a guest at the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at All Hallows overlooking the Tower of London.Â
Her attendance is apt. The event celebrates seafarers and their families, and Princess Anne is the President of the Mission to Seafarers.Â
WednesdayÂ
It's something we look forward to seeing every year and that's when Queen Camilla invites children to decorate the Christmas tree at Clarence House.Â
Children and families supported by the Queen's patronages, Helen & Douglas House and Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity, will be her guests.Â
In recent years, we've seen guest appearances from Santa Claus and his reindeer, so keep your eyes peeled.Â
Friday
Ending the week on a high note, the Princess of Wales's Christmas carol concert will take place at Westminster Abbey.Â
This year's event will celebrate those supporting young children and families, with midwives and nursery guests among the invited guests at the Abbey.Â
Singers Beverley Knight and Adam Lambert, multi-instrumentalist Jacob Collier, performer Freya Ridings, and singer-songwriter James Bay will be among the entertainers on the night.Â
Members of the royal family are expected to turn out to support Kate and we're hoping she'll be joined by her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.Â

I’m really looking forward to Princess Catherine’s Christmas carol Concert. My only wish is that we in Canada can watch it on our televisions.
