Hi, Royal Clubbers!
It’s no secret the Princess Royal attends lots of engagements. But even by her incredibly industrious standards, this week is shaping up to be a busy one! With both King Charles and the Princess of Wales temporarily out of action as they recover from their respective medical interventions, Anne’s unerring dutifulness is such an asset.
Here’s what we know of the coming week as it stands. More engagements may be announced, and we’ll be on top of them all.
Tuesday
The Princess Royal will be in Cheshire, visiting a Save the Children Shop in Warrington and opening the new facilities at the Reaseheath Equestrian College. A rather apt outing given her sporting career.
Elsewhere, King Abdullah II of Jordan turns 62, while King Felipe of Spain celebrates his 56th birthday on the same day.
This year the two monarchs will mark significant milestones in their reign, with King Abdullah's Silver Jubilee on 7 February and King Felipe's tenth year on the throne in June.
Wednesday
The Princess Royal in her role as Royal Fellow of The Royal Academy of Engineering will attend the Tenth Anniversary of Africa Prize for Engineering Innovation reception in London.
Thursday
A poignant trip for the Princess Royal on Thursday as she's set to open a new classroom hub at Gordonstoun in Moray, Scotland.
Anne was the only one of the late Queen Elizabeth II's and the late Duke of Edinburgh's children not to attend the boarding school, as it was a boys school at that time. But she did send Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall there after it became a co-ed in 1972.
Saturday
The Princess Royal will be in the stands to cheer on Scotland against Wales in their first Six Nations match in Cardiff. Anne has been patron of the Scottish Rugby Union since 1986 and is a big rugby fan so no doubt she will be looking forward to this engagement greatly. and how about you, Royal Clubbers? What are you most looking to?! Let me know in the comments below. And, as ever, have royally wonderful weeks.
More Princess Anne!
In case you missed it last year, Andrea posted this lovely tribute to hardworking Anne after the State Opening of Parliament, and now seems a good time to resurrect it! But not only is Anne a hard worker, she is a stylish one too. In this tremendous interview, our Ainhoa found out the Princess Royal’s fashion secrets from none other than designer to the royals, Ruth Guise.
