Royal cousins to the rescue

It’s been another hugely busy week in the royal diary - or at least it was, until the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called a General Election for July 4.
The decision means that many royal events will have to be postponed, including any engagements which “may appear to divert attention or distract from the general election campaign,” a Buckingham Palace spokesman has said.
Thankfully, the news came after one of my favourite annual events, the Chelsea Flower Show.
More on that in a moment, but I wanted to say something about this week’s rainy garden party at Buckingham Palace, which was hosted by the Prince of Wales, but also attended by his royal cousins, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Zara Tindall and her husband Mike, and Peter Phillips.
