My Monday newsletter looked at the many similarities – and one key difference – between Princess Kate and Queen Mary of Denmark. One similarity I didn't list was both are in possession of engagement rings as sumptuous as they are symbolic.
Kate's diamond and sapphire ring is an Instagram dream, but it is Mary's striking ruby and diamond number that has captured my attention following the Danish Queen's return to royal duties yesterday after a short break.
