Prince George's perfect next school
Schools expert analyses the strengths and weaknesses of the candidates
Hello, Royal Clubbers it’s Millie here. I hope you will join me in wishing Prince George a very happy 12th birthday! To mark the occasion, the Wales released this striking birthday portrait, and I must say George looks every inch a king in the making.
It feels hard to believe that 12 years ago we first saw him presented to the world on the steps of the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, with the new parents beaming with pride.
Since then, we have seen Prince George flourish, while still enjoying his childhood under the watchful eye of his loving parents. But his 12th birthday heralds a change – it’s almost time for the young royal to head to secondary school.
Alongside siblings Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, George currently attends Lambrook School in Berkshire, which educates pupils up to Year 8 (13 years old). I spoke to Melanie Sanderson, managing editor of The Good Schools Guide, who shared her thoughts on the reported shortlist of schools under consideration for Prince George, and exclusively told me the school she backs for Prince George’s number one choice.
Melanie said: “If I were advising the Prince and Princess of Wales, I would consider areas that are important for their family and for George: sports, service, faith, secure morals, the cohort, security and location.”
Find out which schools ranked highest in these areas, different factors the royals may take into consideration and which school Melanie was “very surprised” to see Princess Catherine visiting…
