Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans!
Alex here, and it’s my first Thanksgiving away from home. It’s also the first one I can remember where I didn’t wake up early to watch the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade – one of my favorite holiday traditions. But, that doesn’t mean my morning in the UK was any less exciting. Au contraire.
Since I had the day off, I decided to stop by the Anna Freud Centre here in London to see if I could catch a glimpse of the Princess of Wales as she arrived for an engagement… and wow, did I ever.
I not only saw Her Royal Highness, who is patron of the children’s mental health charity, arrive, but I also got incredibly close as she departed and greeted members of the public who had brought flowers for her. Memo to self: next time, bring flowers! Even though I wasn’t home, this was definitely a Thanksgiving to remember.
I’m feeling extra grateful for all the incredible experiences I’ve had this year… this one certainly being one of them!
