My 5 favourite Catherine photos
Esteemed royal photographer James Whatling takes a trip down memory lane
Hi Royal Clubbers,
It's Ainhoa here with your weekly Wednesday newsletter. I know you'd normally be expecting something from Emily, but as she's on holiday this week, I'm sending a post in her absence.
And in case you missed my Monday newsletter, I wrote all about the secrets of Prince William's university life. I spoke to Dr Brian Lang, who was Principal and Vice Chancellor of St Andrews University during the Prince's time, so he had an anecdote or two to share!
For today's post though, I reached out to one of my favourite photographers who we work a lot with at HELLO! – James Whatling.
James has been covering the royals since 1997! He started following the royal beat in the November after Princess Diana died, so he admits it was a "strange time" to join, but he's seen a lot. So much so that he can't remember how many royal births, tours, and weddings he's worked.
I set James the challenge of choosing five favourite photos he's taken of Princess Catherine, which is no easy feat considering he's shot thousands of pictures of her, and she is one of the most photogenic women in the world. But James managed to encompass all sides of Catherine in his selection – sporty Catherine, steely Catherine, Catherine as a mum, and so on.
