I want more of this royal double act
Plus an afternoon at the Palace with a princess
Hi everyone, it’s Emily here with my weekly newsletter.
After a brief break for a holiday (big thanks to Phil for standing in), I’m back on the royal beat, just in time for a flurry of activity – and some rather eyebrow-raising social media posts!
The senior royals (apart from Catherine) have been out in force in the UK: the Queen met some people dressed as bushes, the King beamed his way through a very rain-sodden walkabout in east London and the Prince of Wales donned his beret and fatigues for a first visit to the Army Air Corps, of which he is colonel-in-chief.
All that, however, may have been somewhat overshadowed by the Duchess of Sussex’s decision to share an extraordinary video of her and Prince Harry twerking in a maternity suite ahead of Princess Lilibet’s birth. Words I never expected to write in this lifetime.
It certainly made headlines and filled column inches of newspapers the following day.
But the royal news cycle seemingly never stops and today the spotlight has been on a rare joint outing for Prince William and the Duchess of Edinburgh.
Read on to discover what intrigued me most about the visit as well as to discover which royal engagement was the highlight of my working week…
