He’s terrific at this kind of thing — just like Diana. It’s such a sad waste that he didn’t want to stay in the Firm. They lost out and so did he.

He did want to stay in the firm. He wanted to stay in the firm as ambassadors to the commonwealth and he wanted to both raise his children in the United States and in Britain and he wanted to scale back on his Royal duties because at the time before the death of the queen there were enough Royal duties to go around to the many many royals who were involved. I've never understood why that compromise was not acceptable. And please try very hard not to bash me here. But I have yet to understand the vitriol that has been directed at his wife.

There was a way to do this. And I would have thought the firm would have learnt something from the way they constricted his mother, who I think was proven right about all of it in the end.

He needs to behave like a Royal who was guided by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II while she was alive. He needs to coach his wife about Royal protocol and good manners. She would have done with rules when she was in her Catholic school. Did she complain about wearing her uniform at that time? If you are in Rome, do as the Romans do. Period.

It is time for the royal family to move forward and modernize as many other royal families have. That includes getting over restricting the freedoms of the individual royals to the point where it's all about show and not about substance. I think that Prince William and Princess Catherine have been amazing, But you can see how things have relaxed since Charles has become king. It would be good for that to continue because that is real. After all, the monarchy is something that was constructed and can be revisioned. ( And yes I mean to say re- visioned, not revised!)

I agree with you, Meghan has a problem with rules who knows why, well if I am being honest I have an educated guess. The biggest problem Meghan probably had with the firm is that the RF was never going to make her the star of the show. Having lived in both the U.K. for about 40 yrs and the U.S. around 10yrs I think the both are idiots for not raising the children in the U.K. Awe well no one asked me lol.

Cynthia, You said it well. I have lived in the US for 50 years but I was born and spent my childhood in a Commonwealth country where we learned to respect the RF, especially HM Queen Elizabeth II whom I saw in person as a child.

So very happy for him to come "home". What a loss for the British. He seems very happy in Montecito with his family. It's too bad the way they treated Meghan. Charles has his own rules that he can break but Harry cannot! Too bad so sad! Britain's loss and USA's gain!
