Monday will see a mass royal turnout at the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey. Queen Camilla and the Prince of Wales will be heading up the family, accompanied by the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and the Duke of Kent.
However, we will miss two key players from The Firm – King Charles, who has pre-recorded a special message amid his cancer treatment, and the Princess of Wales, who is still recuperating from abdominal surgery.
But in honour of Kate's absence, for this week's Fashion Friday, I have chosen my three favourite looks from all of the Princess' Commonwealth Day appearances over the years.
Some of the then Duchess of Cambridge's earliest outfits for the service were considerably more muted – a pale pink Alexander McQueen coat while pregnant with Princess Charlotte, and a grey lace-effect Erdem number.
But in recent years, Kate has taken a leaf out of the late Queen's style book and chosen to stand out in bright coat dresses.
