Does Kate need to be 'seen to be believed'?
The Princess of Wales' absence from the public is fuelling tittle tattle
Hi, Royal Clubbers,
I don’t about you but I sure do miss seeing the Princess of Wales! It’s been exactly 48 days since she had planned abdominal surgery at the London Clinic, and 68 days since we last saw her alongside the rest of the royal family attending the Christmas Day church service at Sandringham.
Back then, if you had told me that within two months of this happy outing, the royal family would be in chaos with an absent Princess recovering from surgery, a King diagnosed with cancer, and a member of the family suddenly dying aged just 45, well, I really wouldn’t have believed you.
Up until this week, we’ve all been wondering about Kate, even though the Palace asked everyone to refrain from speculating on her condition – but it all really took a turn for the worse on Tuesday when Prince William cancelled his appearance at King Constantine’s Thanksgiving Service last-minute due to “personal matters”.
Kensington Palace had obviously predicted that many people would put two and two together and make five and so in a release accompanying William’s absence stated Kate’s recovery was “going well”, and that her husband’s decision to pull out of the event was unconnected to her health. And later KP clarified that William’s absence was also unrelated to the death of Lady Gabriella Kingston’s husband Thomas Kingston. I guess we will never know what those “personal matters” were, but we do know it has put more spotlight on Kate.
A few weeks ago I wrote about a preposterous Kate conspiracy theory being spouted on Spanish television. Since then, these conspiracy theories have become more and more ridiculous.
