Christmas at Windsor Castle – exclusive footage!
Here's what happened when the Royal Collection invited our Emily to Windsor
The royal family traditionally gather at Sandringham House in Norfolk to celebrate Christmas and New Year. They've been doing so since 1988.
But did you know that when their children were small, the late Queen and Prince Philip used to celebrate the festive season at Windsor Castle?
So when The Royal Collection invited us down to Windsor to preview their Christmas decorations, we couldn't resist!
This year's theme is centred around the Order of the Garter.
A sparkly Garter star was made especially for the top of the castle's tree. It's a 25-foot-tall Nordmann fir from Windsor Great Park, and is adorned with over 33,000 lights! No wonder it took three days to decorate.
Our very own Emily Nash had the privilege of inspecting the tree, as well as previewing a stunning Christmas table set-up.
And to whet your appetite, Emily and our fellow Royal Clubber, Andrea Caamano (don’t miss her recent tribute to the young Earl of Wessex), also headed down to the Tower of London to see how they're gearing up for Christmas. Set up outside is the most extravagant festive banquet table for visitors to goggle at – Emily and Andrea certainly did…
