Today marks one year since the coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla. And I don't think anyone could have predicted back in May 2023 that one year on from that milestone occasion, Charles, and his daughter-in-law Princess Kate, would be battling cancer.
Last week the King returned to public-facing duties, carrying out his first engagement since he made his diagnosis public. "I'm all right, thank you very much, not too bad," he told one patient as he visited University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre in central London, with his wife Camilla.
He also sympathised with another patient who was undergoing chemotherapy: "It's always a bit of a shock, isn't it, when they tell you? I've got to have my treatment this afternoon as well."
The King, 75, has been doing remarkably well balancing his royal duties as monarch with his health issues.
