Catherine's natural role model
Another busy week for the indefatigable King who is clearly influencing his 'darling daughter-in-law'
Hi everyone, it’s Emily here.
He may be continuing to undergo weekly cancer treatment but the King is showing no signs of wanting to slow down, carrying out at least half a dozen demanding public engagements alongside his usual audiences this week as he prepares to travel to Canada for the first time as monarch later this month.
Among the engagements, a Buckingham Palace garden party, where he shook hands with hundreds of guests, a military ceremony at Windsor, a service to install his son the Prince of Wales as Great Master of the Order of the Bath at Westminster Abbey, and a full day out in Bradford, west Yorkshire with Queen Camilla.
Most people might have expected him to take things at a more leisurely pace after his health setback in March, when he was briefly hospitalised after suffering side-effects from his treatment.
At the time, he was forced to postpone several planned engagements, but I’m told he has wasted no time in catching up, insisting on rescheduling even the less urgent of them so as not to let anyone down.
But should he be working this hard?
