Hi Royal Clubbers, it’s Iona again.
I wouldn’t usually email you again so soon but this is huge news: Prince Harry and King Charles have reunited at Clarence House, the monarch’s London residence.
Royal correspondent Danielle Stacey has just published an article containing all we know so far. You can read it here. I would also advise going back to the HELLO! website over the next few hours as more details – and hopefully pictures and footage – from the meeting emerge.
I’ve also just received this quote from HELLO!’s royal editor, Emily Nash, who earlier on predicted this meet-up would happen today. That’s royal insight for you!
"I understand this meeting had been under consideration for some time, but both camps have refused to comment on whether it would actually happen. Harry has made it clear that he wants a reconciliation with his father and this is the first step. They haven't seen each other for some 19 months, so their reunion, however brief, is long overdue."
It will be brief out of necessity as Harry has an engagement in London shortly, which seems a shame – but then royals are renowned for putting duty first.
Anyway, that’s all from me but I leave you with a snap poll to gauge how you are feeling about the news. As ever, please expand on your answers in the comments.
Speak soon, Royal Clubbers.
Yes, it's high time they reunited, especially because life is short and there are no guarantees about tomorrow. That being said, however, I hope there are apologies on both sides (mostly Harry's) and true dialog about how (if) they can positively move forward; how Harry can perhaps be of help to his father and brother in the future as it pertains to the Monarchy into which he was born. That's what my heart says. My head says that as long as "someone" back in California is pulling the strings and controlling Harry, and he lets himself be controlled, I sadly don't see there being many positive changes in the future.
meeting to engage in a dialogue, yes - reuniting, no! harry has far to go to be trusted again in the family. is it his wish to return & repair, or does he need money to support his wife's lifestyle, or even to fulfill some contract promise. I do not trust him, I can not imagine anyone in the family trusting him
