Catherine produces nothing tangible, she is not invited to speak anywhere (if she speaks, the palace organizes those events and she barely says anything at the event). She does not meaningfully partner with businesses or charities to effect change. She has been called out by at least one charity for not visiting in 8 years. William's events barely register as being any better. I saw more clearly staged pictures of him playing volleyball in Brazil during the EarthShot event than anything else. I literally cannot name a single winner off the top of my head. William gets the duchy which generates millions in personal income for him and his family. And the royals receive tens of millions annually to support themselves, a growing pot of money for a shrinking group of working royals. And this sum is exclusive of security costs. The uncomfortable question, if one is being objective, is what exactly do the royals do for all of that money? Some people say tourism, but tourists don't meet members of the royal family. So, that is not it. And the depth of the Andrew cover-up when put side by side with the treatment that Harry and Meghan received. They literally protected a family member they knew was accused of serious crimes, including assault, while setting Harry and Meghan adrift and unleashing the tabloid media on them because they asserted they were struggling. Harry and Meghan did not speak publicly of their experience until more than a year after they left and after tabloid cruelty and lies had failed to to dissipate. I mean, the palace leaked the story that Meghan had made Kate cry when the opposite of true, going so far as to .having the "Catherine the Great" story corrected but leaving in that lie. At least some of the royals actively participated in working to turn the public against Harry and Meghan. This is dysfunction to an alarming degree. The media needs to start writing about these realities.
