I also enjoy seeing young carolers who visit homes! The annual Carol Concert put on by the Princess of Wales is very special. Although I live in the US, I always watch it. This year I will watch it in Colombo, Sri Lanka!

Hello Iona! a longtime favourite Christmas Carol was buried deep in my brain. My Sister was placed in Palliative Care yesterday and my daughter went to see her and FaceTime me so that I could see her. I found myself singing this beautiful Carol to her. Though raspy, it came out! Don't know if you know it because I am way older than you are. It is Lully, lullay,/ Thou little tiny child, (a Coventry Carol). I have not heard it sung anywhere in way over 40 years. My daughter said, "Where did you get this from, Maman? You are making that up!" So late last night, I found it and sent it to her.

Christmas is my favourite time of Year and I have forever Loved the Christmas Carol's we used

to sing when my wondrous Pianist (Pro for sure!) Momma would sit at her gloried 6'2'' Grand Piano starting to play Traditional Christmas Carol's with some of our Cousins and Uncles - All gathered 'round as Momma played the lovely Introductions to these time honoured Christmas Carol's, like "Silent Night" and "Oh, Holy Night" plus other favoured Christmas Carol's ~ "We Three Kings" and a globally favoured Carol, "Jingle Bells" which is most probably best known around The World!! Being the daughter of a fabled Top of Class Juilliard Father composer and whom in a fabulous Broadway Show composed some of the Love Songs we used to Sing at Christmas including "Summer Song" and "The First Good Night"- all of them composed by my father out of Love in the early years of my parents marriage ... Usually after our Entire Family Christmas Dinner, we'd all gather 'round Momma at the Piano to sing to her glorious score for Two Piano's ~ "It's a Free Country" which was the Closer Music Finale to my Father's w/Irish Lyricist "Rip Van Winkle" Musical Show which was performed in Fresno, CA; the Lowenstein Theatre in Denver, Colorado and in The Hollywood Masquers Club, LA, and I must confess, an earlier time in America, but to see/ hear & Sing "Rip Van Winkle" Fav Ballads w/so many known Classic's was to Live Joyfully and in America On Christmas Day and what is termed in Your GB, "Boxing Day" 26th December Annually!! It was odd that an eminent Music OBE Colleague of mine in London, submitted the Full Score to the Choir Director at Windsor Castle Chapel which the small Choir was forced to forego until they could engage more Singers to fill the gap so needed to gift the Score Full Wonder on a First Hearing/Revealing the Joy of and at Christmas Every Year as Time passes us On!! From "Lizzie", my Family & very close friends nickname, which warms my heart to this writing! Merry w/Happiest Christmas and 'Boxing Day' to All 'Best of British' from an American Anglophile loving a new time in transatlantic communications and Direct Line Telephone Communique's for a Challenge of Music Fav's posted by UK HELLO Magazine/ London 2025!! All Write In's should be Received by 15th of December in Anno 2025 and Then TBA via Email and even an In Person Christmas Podcast!?

Like you, I sang in choirs from I was little girl! I also love, In the Bleak Midwinter, and, Once in Royal David's City.

I would love to see Princess Kate's Carol Concert, but unfortunately, I am never able to find it on any of my television channels.

Ah, 'Once in Royal David's City' - that's a good one! There would always be an audition to sing the first verse as a solo at a concert, and I got to do it once, haha.

Oh, if you are in the US, it might be streamed on BritBox or Amazon Prime? If not, hopefully I can share some clips and footage from this year's concert for you - Iona

Hello Iona, singing the solo of the first verse, must be something that you were excited to do. Singing the solo in any choir, is very special. I am used to doing that, but many years ago, I damaged my vocal cords, and am no longer able to sing. Had to go for speech therapy for a year, got my speaking voice back, though raspy, but my singing voice never came back. Though, I keep trying.

I am in Montreal, Canada. Last year when I tried to watch it, I couldn't find it anywhere. I do have Amazon Prime this year, so should be able to get it. However, I will look forward to seeing "some clips and footage from this year's concert." Will greatly appreciate it!
