Hi Royal Clubbers, it’s Iona here.

On Friday, I asked if you liked the King’s birthday portrait, and 89 per cent of you said yes.
I agree, it was a sweet photo of him to mark his 77th birthday, and several Royal Clubbers wished him happy birthday in the comments.
I hope he got some time off away from his busy royal schedule to relax.
Poll of the day
As you will have read, Duchess Sophie was spotted wearing a rather summery frill dress while on her tour to South and Central America.
Now, as the climate dramatically drops in London this week (I say this while wrapped in a blanket in my freezing house), I cannot say this floral look is on my immediate fashion radar. It is, however, refreshing to see an outfit which harks back to summer!
Sophie’s sun-kissed look really brings out the bright colours of the dress. Plus, I love the pop of pink lipstick, adding an extra girly touch to the outfit. I must point out the frill detailing on the sleeves of the dress, which I haven’t seen for a while, but if anyone is to start a fashion frenzy, it is a royal lady.
While my wardrobe doesn’t have many floral garments lurking within, I’m keen to know if yours do (especially for readers in warmer climates)? And if so, do you have a favourite clothes brand you buy your floral dresses from?
Let me know in the comments!
Picture of the day
A special photo will go on display at the My Life In Objects exhibition at Bonhams in London tomorrow. The life being objectified on this occasion is Lady Glenconner’s, who was one of Queen Elizabeth’s maids of honour on her coronation day in 1953.
In the photo, taken by Cecil Beaton, Lady Glenconner is pictured third from the left with her fellow Maids of Honour and Queen Elizabeth II.
Aren’t these dresses spectacular? I love the gold detailing and matching tiaras – and they make all in the shot look utterly resplendent.
