An evening with Tom Parker Bowles
Emily reports on her outing with Queen Camilla's son – and gives her verdict on the new show from Duchess Meghan (Sussex, not Markle)
Hi everyone, it’s Emily here with my weekly newsletter.
And what a week it has been!
King Charles has gone from hosting Ukraine’s President Zelensky at Sandringham after his extraordinary clash with President Trump, to announcing that he will share his own special playlist to mark Commonwealth Day on March 10. I have it on very good authority that it might surprise you and bring an unexpected smile to your face!
Meanwhile the Prince of Wales has been championing mental health for NHS workers and young people, the Queen has been celebrating young writers and a certain new lifestyle show began streaming on Netflix… more of which in a moment.
So amid the frantic pace of royal news over the past seven days, it was a treat to head to Windsor last night to the wonderful Castle Hotel, where Queen Camilla’s son Tom Parker Bowles was discussing his latest book Cooking & The Crown.
As well as sharing some of the surprising details he unearthed during his research into the royal archives – Queen Victoria and Edward VII could eat A LOT – he also offered a couple of amusing insights into the Queen’s home life.
